Over the course of the last few years, Arlington has stepped up their goals to achieve safer and healthier neighborhoods. The Community Services Department is growing partnerships with nonprofit organizations in order to maintain the neighborhoods and keep them attractive.

Many of those in the community are working together in order to make their neighborhoods a better place by welcoming newcomers, and initiating fun neighborhood activities. For new residents that are homebound and are incapable of having someone make them a noontime meal, Meals on Wheels is available, as well as Handitran, which is a special transportation service that is available for residents who are 65 years of age or older, that have mental or physical disabilities.
